First Bump in the Road

Today was kind of a harder day for me. I ended up waking up at two pm, even though I went to bed around midnight, because I didn't have to work last night. Then I had no ambition to really count my calories, I had to force my self to measure and weigh everything. I did make a couple of mistakes today, but I am reminding myself that it's going to happen as long as it's not everyday.

I know that I have been kinda stressed today and yesterday, I'm thinking that maybe that is why I had a bad day. I have to figure out a way to keep myself from getting stressed all the time so I do not get like this. I am afraid that if I keep having "I don't care" days, then I am going to give up on my goals.

I don't know. Tomorrow is another day. I am going to get up, go to work and see how my day progresses and remind myself why I am trying to lose all this weight. Well I'm going to bed. Just wanted to share my thoughts.

  1. Stress is going to happen. You are right! You just need to figure out how you can best relieve it. Is it a piece of gum? Chewing on a crunchy carrot violently? :) Taking a few deep breaths? Going for a quick walk? Figure out what works for you! For me it's gum and the gym. When I'm pissed or stressed, I go to the gym, and by the time I've left, I forget why I was upset. Adrenaline is an endorphin and makes you feel happy. So when you workout, your body releases endorphins and de-stresses you. :) Yay! Chin up though! You're doing GREAT!

  2. I agree with the above comment. Exercise is a fantastic stress reliever and be sure and reward yourself for exercising when you're stressed with some low calorie treat after or a cup of tea or whatever you like. That way you'll reinforce the behavior of exercising when stressed. I know it's a little Pavlov's dog-ish but it works. I'm a big believer in positive reinforcement. You must not allow yourself apathy days either, because one leads to another which leads to another and pretty soon you're back to square one. I know it's tough but you have to watch out for those. :)
